The Lobster Big Band swings hard, featuring the timeless music of Count Basie , Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Quincy Jones, as well as hip new arrangements--everything from 40's swing to hot latin and salsa. Led by keyboardist and arranger James "King Salmon" Lafferty, the full tilt big band is comprised of five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, and the kickin' Lobster rhythm section.
Leading the Lobster sax section is Cliff Pecota, who also contributes original compositions and arrangements. Featured soloists include: 2 of the hottest tenor players on the east coast,Tom Labella and Warren Fioretti, and trombonist Pete Reichlin. Vocalist/ percussionist Chino Roberts does a mean Louis Jordan and Cab Calloway tribute. Also featured on vocals is guitarist Bob Ferry singing some zoot suit swingin' favorites. Occasional special guests include: Audrey Welber-Lafferty on clarinet/ sax, vocalist Vance Villastrago, and the fiery tenor sax of Jeff Rupert. Check out the calendar for our upcoming concerts
